Day 1: Cusco – Km 104 – Aguas Calientes

We begin our captivating journey from your hotel in Cusco, setting off on the mesmerizing Brief Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Our adventure commences with a scenic bus ride to Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, followed by a delightful train journey through the valley, lasting approximately an hour, to the starting point of our Machu Picchu hike. Our expedition kicks off at the banks of the Urubamba River and gradually ascends to intersect with the original Inca Trail at the historic Wiñay Wayna site. Continuing onward, we proceed to the Sun Gate before finally reaching the majestic Machu Picchu citadel.
Throughout our trek, we traverse a verdant cloud forest abundant with diverse flora, fauna, and avian species. With a stroke of luck, we may even catch glimpses of indigenous wildlife such as Viscachas (resembling rabbit-like Chinchillas) or the elusive Spectacled Bear. This route promises the most awe-inspiring scenery along the Brief Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
As the day draws to a close, we arrive at the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) in the late afternoon, greeted by breathtaking panoramic vistas of Machu Picchu nestled below the mountain ridge.
